The Power of Lord Shiva ' Third Eye
The Power of Lord Shiva’s Third Eye
Once, Lord Shiva was meditating peacefully on Mount Kailash. His deep meditation was never disturbed, and his third eye remained closed unless necessary. One day, Lord Kamadeva, the god of love, wanted to break Shiva’s meditation to make him fall in love with Goddess Parvati.
Kamadeva shot his arrow of love toward Shiva, hoping to awaken feelings in his heart. But the moment the arrow touched Shiva, he opened his third eye in anger. A powerful flame emerged from it, instantly burning Kamadeva into ashes.
However, when Kamadeva’s wife, Rati, pleaded for mercy, Shiva, being kind-hearted, granted her a boon. He restored Kamadeva, but only in an invisible form, symbolizing the unseen power of love that exists in the universe.
This story teaches us that love is eternal and Shiva's third eye represents wisdom, awareness, and destruction of ignorance.
